Since the early 1940's the Deer River Lions Club has been living up to the Lion's motto "We Serve" in the greater Deer River Area. Whether sponsoring a swimming program and public park for our youth or providing help with the area food shelf and roadside cleanup projects, the Deer River Lions are committed to making our community a better place.

In addition to the dozens of local charities the Deer River Lions serve, there are several state, national, and international charities that we support as well. From the Lion's Eye Bank and LeaderDog Programs to the fight to find a cure for diabetes and other debilitating diseases, the Deer River Lions work hard to serve those less fortunate. World wide, the Lions Club connects 1.3 million men and women in over 200 countries and regions who work together to benefit communities around the world. Locally, we provide funding and resources for many projects throughout the Itasca County area. For more than 70 years the Deer River Lions have sponsored the World's Largest Wild Rice Festival as our primary fundraising activity. The Wild Rice Festival has grown in recent years to bring thousands of people together a weekend of "community". The Deer River Lions Club exists for you, but it cannot exist without you.
